Diggin' the Glee Club shirt.
Congratulations Richard! Just fantastic to see your work featured on the blog. I can't wait to enjoy what's next!
As a designer myself,(old school - think linotype...) I really have an appreciation for the simplicity of design and limited color palettes (ok, i'm actually a design snob - I won't wear tee shirts with poor design). Which fuels my only criticism:I read this entire blog backwards. I thought YOUR Dole Whip/Tiki design was wonderful. I'm headed to Disneyland this fall and was excited to buy one. As I read more, I found out that is wasn't a "park" shirt; but that made me happy since I could support good design & art directly. Yeah... then I found out that it's not available at all. So my criticism, obviously, is that I don't have the opportunity to get a "quality" shirt.I would love to know if this problem can be fixed at some point ;)
Congratulations! Hopefully this is just the start. You've got a great eye for what is really appealing.
Awesome! I found your blog through Pinterest - someone has pinned your typography sheets. I love them! I love the 'album covers'. I wish the sheets were available for sale or as freebies - I don't feel comfortable simply saving the image. The Dole Whip shirt is great, though I am not a fan of the drink. :(Too bad Mr. Grumpypants up there didn't read the link copy correctly!
HI - Mr. Grumpypants here,Richard, I hope you didn't take offense at my harrumphing as much as the scrapbooker here suggested. I have a deep appreciation for your work and I know what it takes to produce real art. I was just disappointed that I did't get in on the tiki shirt frenzy. I hope there will be a second printing - it may be cheaper now that the initial cost of screen set-up is out of the way (assuming that the printer kept the screen open).I'll keep looking in to see if there is a part II and, of course, for great graphic design.
Richard, I still like your dole whip shirt better than the one Disney Parks is actually selling. In fact, my only regret about it is that I didn't buy MORE of them! ; ) I got one for my wife and every time she wears it, especially to the Park, she getsbcompliments and people asking which store she bought it at. LOVE LOVE LOVE that shirt. Will we ever get an opportunity to buy more of your fantastic work?
Well the one in the parks is mine too! I designed that one for the parks. I currently have three shirts out now and a few more coming out soon! Thanks for the comments and support and be sure to check back for more news and updates.
